In the literary work, “The Open Window”, the author reflects on the importance of values and a life with goals. Everything goes against the protagonist. She lives in a remote village; she is an orphan of father and mother; educated by a widow grandmother, the only survivor in a family of emigrants. Very early, Luciana loses the only father figure she had: the kind doctor of the town. Even before adulthood, she was left alone, without her grandmother who had raised her.However, despite all the difficulties, Luciana wants to realise her dreams, although unexpectedly she is caught in a human traffic network.Through its protagonist the author leave us an important message: it does not matter if there are closed doors in our path since you continue to look for the open window …
